I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for the warm welcome I received when judging at their 75th Anniversary championship show, on Sunday 26th August 2001. Special thanks to Mary McNally for her hospitality. I was pleased to present the Club's trophies following judging and thoroughly enjoyed meeting the exhibitors. Such a pity that the entry was low, as such hard work had been put into the show arrangements.

The entry was somewhat marred by the foot and mouth restrictions, but there were still some quality exhibits.

Puppy dog
1. Timmin's KYNAN RED OCTOBER, 10 months quality male, correctly placed stop, well rounded foreface. Good length of head, used ears well. Nice length of neck and back, giving a pleasing outline. Well coated with good bane. A very promising puppy, moved freely. Best puppy in Show
2. Smyths SILVERMAND THUNDERWOLF, stronger in head than 1, well presented.

Junior dog
No entries

Novice dog.
1, Deneher's ESTELLE GENTLE BEN, out of coat completely, but had a quite a nice head, with good flat skull. Would have liked more stop. Used ear well. Movement was hard to assess.

Graduate dog.
1. Colclough's LABASHEEDA BLUE SKIES. Well coated 13 month male, with a good head, well placed stop, almond shaped dark eyes. Showed well, good length of neck and back. Moved well behind, shown in good coat, but presentation needs attention.

Limit dog.
1. Farrel's BELRAHS MATCHMAKER, A little small but with nice eye & expression, well placed ears. Good outline, well presented, moved soundly.
2. Doyle's WIGGS LORD OF THE DALES, a heavier type, but well presented. All male for me a little full in eye and requires more stop to enhance expression.

Open dog.
1. Cummin's ALTNAREAGH I'M BRYN. Very nice s./w, moved very well, as his construction would suggest. Certainly no mistaking his sex. Lovely head and eye, used ears well. Good reach of neck, well groomed and presented. Pleased to award Dog Green Star and Reserve Best in Show to this quality exhibit. Seemed slightly distracted by the ladies today, but still his qualities won through
.

2. Timmins KYNAN JACK DANIELS. Not dissimilar to 1, but wider set ears. Good front angulation, and adequate length of back. Well bent stifle, and moved with drive. Shown in good coat and condition, would like more enthusiasm to the job in hand!! Reserve Green Star.

ALTNAREAGH I'M BRYN

Junior Handling
Richard Collins, aged 10. Sympathetically handled is charge, and although alone, handled well. Carried out instructions calmly and quietly. Well done.

Puppy bitch.
1. Timmin's KYNAN CRESENDO, litter sister to BPIS, same qualities. Good body lines, nice size. Moved well, but outline spoiled by wealth of coat which also gives the impression of lack on neck, which is not true on handling. Well placed stop, balanced head, dark well-shaped eye, topped with nicely placed ears.
2. Smyth's INGLEDENE LOVEHEART AT SILVERMANE. Pretty bitch with nice stop, good eye - longer in head than 1, movement let her down and shown out of coat.
3. Pentony's KYNAN EVITA, unsettled due to late arrival, but nicely presented. Had a nice outline, and a pretty shape. For me her eye could be better shaped being a little full, and would hope for slightly more stop.

Junior bitch.
1. Battigan's ROCLYNN NOCTURNE, very petite tricolour, pleasing head, well placed stop, nice dark eye, ears a little light.. Had a good reach of neck and balanced outline. In good coat, and moved well when she eventually settled down.

Graduate bitch.
1. O'Brien's BELRAH GOLDEN TOUCH. Nicely shaped bitch. Well-placed dark eye, balanced head. Good length of body, with good front angulations. Moved adequately.
2. Kelleher's BELRAH ALL IN GOLD, moved well, and showed well, her head a little coarse for me, grooming needs attention.

Limit bitch.
1. Doyle's JOSHREN TATLANA AT GARAFIN, Lovely outline, although another out of coat. Movement difficult to assess, as she was very sluggish, but won on overall conformation, nice length of back well angulated, good bend of stifle. Quite a pleasing head, with dark almond eye, stop in correct place, balanced head properties.
2. Kelly's MANACESOO TALLAGHT'S DREAM AT ARDENS. Similar in body shape to 1, showed of her virtues well, nice eye, tight ears. Moved wide behind.
3. Timmin's KYNAN HUDSON BLUE. Heavier in head, and ears a little too heavy. Very well presented, moved well in front, but rear action needs attention.

Open bitch.
1. Farrel's AMALIE SUCHA SURPRISE. She was the star of the day. A very glamorous sable & white, with lovely elegant flowing lines. First impressions showed her well-arched neck, good length of back, long sweeping tail. Well-bent stifle, lovely short hocks all aided towards her driving movement. Her head handles well, so clean. Good stop, sweetest of eyes correctly placed, ultra feminine. Very attentive to her handler, presented in top class condition, made the picture of just what I was looking for. Showed very well, a credit to her proud owner and will trouble the best, easy winner of the Green Star and Best in Show.
2. Battigan's ROCLYNN LOVE ME DO, another top class bitch, again lovely classical shape but was let down by her front movement. Another with excellent presentation. To be critical, would like slightly more stop, but she lovely dark eyes, giving her the desired expression. Unlucky to meet 1 on such sparkling form. Reserve Green Star.
3. O'Brien's LYNAIRE MAGIC TOUCH.

Best Tricolour.
1. Kynan Jack Daniels
2. Smyth's Silvermane Thunderwolf

Best Blue Merle.
1. Colcloughs Labasheeda Blue Skies

Best Sable & White.
1. Timmins Kynan Red October.
2. Smyths Ingledene Loveheart at Silvermane.
3. Kelleher's Belrah All in Gold.

Many thanks to my very able steward Ted Bollard, who made the day such an enjoyable one! Chris Collins [Triburle]
