Hi there, let me introduce myself..I'm Pat Corben and my partner Barry. We have been around the show scene for about 7 and a half years now.
The first Collie we had was purchased as a pet, he is nearly 8 now -his name "Maverick" or to be posh, Karabet Twist and Shout. He certainly lives up to his name. He never keeps quiet and is very lively. He was shown as a pup but as he got older he lost the showing bug so we retired him. But it was through him that we became involved in the shows...so I decided to buy another.

I bought a beautiful Blue Merle Bitch and called her "Opal",
Amathus Forget-Me-Not via Caprioara.

She was bred by Sue Thomas and she did very well as a pup. Opal has had quite a lot of success winning many best puppies and Group placings. Equally she did well at Championship shows being placed at almost every show she had been entered at. Opal qualified for Crufts and it was a very special for us to have an exhibit at this show. She is lovely to show and to live with and she enjoys her life and I hope to breed from her one day. I think I have been so impressed with Opal that I have since gone on to buyanother tri-colour dog puppy named "Onyx" or

who shares the same father as Opal and is related to Opal through her sister. I bought him from Karen Aylesbury . He has attitude in spades and I do have high hopes for him, as they say.."Watch this Space"..I then managed to buy another tricolour, a bitch this time who again [you guessed it!!] has the same father as Opal and Onyx. I bought her from Gwen Beaden , and she is delightful, very pretty and has a face full of expression. Her name.

.Myriehewe Ouija Board or "Jet".

Being the youngest of the trio, she will no doubt be extra spoilt. They will be out showing and I can't wait to see how they do.

I suppose you are wondering who this sire of my collies is..well its Myriehewe Rainbow Quest over Kazmith. To say that I like him is of course an understatement..and Floyed [his pet name] has certainly been putting it about lately [wonder if Karen knows?].

Anyway these are just some of my dogs because I also breed German Shepherds [straight backs] and we are involved with Greyhound Rescue and we also have two of this gentle breed. So as you can probably see I'm heaverly involved with dogs, oh and I forgot I am also a dog instructor with my own training school..So you see dog shows are only one part of the life I share with my dogs. I really enjoy meeting new people who share my passion...DOGS!

Jasper has been a reluctant showman at first and has needed a little time but has since begun to show.
He has not let me down in the show ring. He like the other three share Myriehewe Rainbow Quest over Kazmith in his pedigree and we here at Caprioara are looking forward to the 2008 show season.
