We are the proud owners of 8 Rough Collies.

I fell in love with Rough Collies when I met my husband, Ian's collie, Shep.

Shep was everything I always dreamed of in a dog. He was so loving, loyal, fun and very cuddly.

Shep was also very elegant, faithful and obedient. Ian was ok too !!!!!!

I have always been exceptionally fond of animals. From early childhood I rescued cats, dogs, rabbits and birds whether they wanted to be or not. Most of the time the owners knew where to come looking for them! I was very fortunate to have the love of two dogs when I was young. These lovely dogs were called Lassie and Rusty. They were both rescued and they lived to a ripe old age. When I moved into my very first home, I knew having a dog would not have been a good idea. Firstly it was a flat and not on the ground floor. Secondly my career took me away from home constantly. I knew I couldn't have a dog.

Just as I had done as a child, I decided to rescue a beautiful cat. I named her Cher. She was a wonderful pet, I adored her. Cher bought me so much joy..Knowing she was lonely during the day, when I was at work, I decided to get her a little sister to play with. Sue- Sue...both cats were beautiful. I had Cher for 17 years and Sue-Sue was with me for over 18 years. I still miss all the pets I have had in my life. Every day I think about those cats and dogs and the happiness they brought to me. I have owned eight cats, seven have lived happy, long lives, only one never lived as long as the others. At the moment I have two cats.Co-Co is 13. Malley is the youngest at 12. Co-Co and Malley sometimes accompanies my husband and I with our 6 collies on long walks if the weather is good.

As we live in the country, we are very fortunate to be able to walk from the house to suitable grounds. The dogs and cats can play and walk safely without causing any disturbance. Very surprisingly our cats settled in well with the dogs, even though they were with us for many years before the first of our collies, Lady, cane to stay. We then acquired Harry, Charlei, Joy, Ruby,Millie and Eve, our first blue merle.

Millie had a litter of 7 on the 24th August 2006. This was our first litter and what an experience for us. Seven healthy puppies of which we kept 2 bitches, Cali and Rosie. The dogs all went to new homes where they quickly settled down to very happy and contented lives.

Our collies bring us so much happiness; we can't believe how much fun, love and joy we now have in our lives.....

Rosie is exceptionally laid back, she never hurries, just takes her time, except at meal times then she is always first to finish. She is madly in love with Mally [my 12 year old ginger cat] she adores him and shows him how much by licking his screwed up face, age doesn't matter as far as she is concerned. If you want any response from Rosie, all you have to say is "Where's Malley", and she's off bum shaking, tail wagging like crazy, looking for him.
