Animals have always been a big part of my life, growing up with Horses and Dogs in the Dorset Countryside, my parents bred Cocker Spaniels on a hobby basis under the Affix of Swanmount.

I started showing dogs myself in 1989, starting off with Shih Tzu, then in 1999 I bought my first Rough Collie Dog from the famous ‘Pelido’ Kennels and as the Shih Tzu’s left us I carried on with the Rough Collie, a breed I have adored since a child.

My first Rough Collie, Pelido Affair to Remember from Shandlmain did himself very proud at his very first Championship show winning 1st in Minor Puppy dog qualifying him for Crufts where he was placed in a very large and strong class. Throughout his puppy career the trend continued and culminated in being invited to the EACA Pup of the Year competition. Unfortunately, ‘Taylor’ never really enjoyed the show scene and was retired from Showing.

We now live in Lincolnshire and below are dogs we own and have bred.

STRAWBERRY KISSES FROM SHANDLMAIN
[Amalie Mild Affair x Rossavon Dark n' Delicious]

‘SUKI’ came home to us as an 8 week old puppy, as a puppy and adult, Suki has been very successful winning many top honours and qualified for Crufts at her very first Championship Show at 6 months old. Suki has won many Best Puppy, Puppy Group, BOB, Group placings and a Best Rough Collie in Show at a Breed Club Show and won her Stud Book Number at EACA Championship Show in 2006, qualifying her for Crufts for Life. Suki has also had placings at Crufts even when she was out of coat. Suki had three litters of pups, All the puppies shown qualified for Crufts and one pup was exported to Greece. One bitch puppy from Suki’s last litter is retained here at Shandlmain. Suki is now semi-retired from Showing and will only ever make the odd occasional appearance, although she does not like being left behind when we go to the shows!

WICANI THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC FOR SHANDLMAIN
(Magic – DOB 12/05/2006)
[Sire: Wicani What's New Pussycat 2 CC’s Dam: Wicani Catwalk Queen]

‘Magic’ Came to us from the Wicani Kennels at 14 weeks old, of which I cannot thank Angela and Keith Harvey enough for allowing me to have this fantastic dog. Magic has a temperament to die for, he has fabulous conformation and is a pleasure to watch on the move, he floats around the ring and can turn on a sixpence, definitely ‘Fit for Function’. Only very lightly shown, again Magic qualified for Crufts at his very first Championship Show, winning a very strong class. Magic was placed at Crufts but he has been out of the ring for a while now whilst he matures. Magic will be making an appearance in the show ring again very soon. Magic has sired 3 successful litters to date and is available at Stud to approved Bitches only
